Each episode is narrated by Jeff Geddis, who sings the theme song, with Sonja Ball doing backup vocals. Ratty Catty was also the first show Spectra Animation had produced to share a studio with the Mercury Filmworks animation studio in Ottawa, Ontario, and the first show by Spectra Animation to air in the 1990's. The series also aired on Cartoon Network in summer 1997 until the end of February 2013, where it moved to the Qubo Channel in the United States from Mato July 26, 2020.
Both channels are still airing reruns of the series. The series' last episode did not air on TOF Studios until October 31, 2012, though it aired on Jon ROBLOX TV Studios. The series also started airing as a part of ROBLOX TV Studios Inc.'s TOF Studios and ROBLOX TV Studios channels, both in Canada on February 15, 2004. Reruns of every episode were aired until September 2017, and returned to the schedule from Mato December 31, 2021. Reruns of the series continued airing from then, and season five began airing on Treehouse TV in March 2, 2012. On September 6, 2007, the series was removed from the YTV channel, and the show was moved to Treehouse TV on Octofor the remaining part of season four, and the entire fifth and sixth seasons.
The series centers around the misadventures of an anthropomorphic cat and mouse duo who turn their normal, everyday lives with their human family at the "Happy Home", a house located in the fictional city Brookhaven, located in the province of Québec, Canada, into tons of crazy, life-sized adventures. The series made its official premiere on YTV in Canada on April 4, 1997, and continued until June 9, 2012. Ratty Catty (French: Ratty et Catty: Les Minables) is a Canadian-Spanish animated television series geared towards children ages six to twelve, produced by Spectra Animation and Fatkat in Canada, and as of season four, Zinkia Entertainment in Spain.
